I have just joined this site and thought I would introduce myself.
I am Nikki and live in Cornwall (South West UK) I am 23. In April 2005 my sister passed away from leukeamia after fighting for 20 months. She was just a few weeks away from her 18th birthday!
I coped really well and supported my parents with their loss. But then suddenly two years later it hit me that I'd lost her and that I would never see her again. I have got over my "bad spell" and am doing ok now. Obviously I will never get over the fact that I have lost my sister but I will gradually learn to live with it.
In Tanya's memory, my family and I decided to et up a charity called The Tanya's Courage Trust, we support 16-25 year olds living in Cornwall with Cancer. We offer financial support as well as a friendly ear for anyone who wants to talk, scream, or cry! We can also give a wish of any kind, so if someone would rather meet a celebrity we will do our best to fulfill that wish!
Anyway this is going on a bit so I will try and cut this short now.
If anyone needs a chat, I am here for anyone as I completely understand how tough this horrible disease is!
