It is indeed a difficult situation .But do not lose heart, life is full of such upheavels.Do not shy away from approaching a counsellor .They are a great help.

Aww, honey. You poor thing. It'll be hard at first, but try talking to your dad. When my mom had cancer I talked to my school guidance councilor. You should too. xx

I'm 13 and my older brother has just been diagnosed with leukemia. My mom died from cancer when I was 4, so I can't talk to her and my dad just goes round in a state of ignorance. He just pretends like nothing is happening. My brother has been told he only has a few months to live and he just can't accept it. None of us can. My friends are sympathetic but they don't understand, none of them do. My teacher recommended this website, so I'm asking if anyone can help? Will it get better? When will I accept it? Who can I talk to? Help!
